IT and security

What hardware and browsers do we need?
Banquet is web-based and runs in any modern browser. It works on the computers, tablets and phones you already have, so you can use your own devices without buying new ones.
How does Banquet connect to our EMR?
Diet orders and admissions flow in over HL7 from Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), Meditech, Netsmart and more. Connecting a new EMR takes us under two months with your IT team.
Does Banquet integrate with our point-of-sale system?
We're building point-of-sale integrations with leading systems now. Tell us which one you use and we'll plan it into your rollout.
How is our data protected?
Banquet is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type II. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, backed up regularly, and every change is logged with who made it and when. Staff sign in with your hospital's single sign-on.

Food and nutrition teams

Can Banquet apply our diets, allergies and substitutions safely?
Yes. Every order on every channel is checked against the patient's diet order, allergies and texture, and an order that breaks a rule can't go to the kitchen.
How do orders reach the kitchen, and what do tickets look like?
Every order, whether it comes from the bedside, staff, family or the diet office, arrives as one tray ticket in the same format. Tickets print by unit, meal and station, and you choose what's on them.
Can we see nutrition for each menu and each diet?
Yes. Nutrition is calculated for every item, and you can set minimums and maximums for each diet per meal or per day.
Can patients and families order on their own?
Yes. Patients order from a bedside tablet or their own phone, family can order on a patient's behalf, and staff and the diet office can order for anyone.
Can we hide items that are out of stock, or set different menus and prices per site?
Yes. Out-of-stock items can be hidden from ordering, and each site can have its own menus and prices.

Finance and leadership

How is Banquet priced?
You pay for the patients you serve, not for modules or seats. Pricing scales with your census. Implementation, training, support, new features, EMR integration and users are all included. Talk to our team for a quote.
What's included in implementation and support?
You get a dedicated registered dietitian and implementation engineer who set up your data, connect your EMR and train your staff on site. After go-live, support is by email during business hours, with 24/7 escalation for urgent issues.
How long does implementation take?
Most hospitals go live in about 10 weeks. Your team only decides and reviews: AI does the data entry, and we handle setup, the EMR connection and training.
Can we try Banquet before we buy?
Yes. We can set up a test tenant so your team can try Banquet before you commit.
